Are you the kind of person who loves the idea of free parking? If so, you’re in luck.
The Short North Alliance announced today a collaboration with four neighborhood parking garages to allow some accommodations for daytime parking users. Between the hours of 9am and 5pm, your first hour of parking in the follow garages is free:
- Second and High: 965 N. High St.
- The Hub: 26 E. Hubbard Ave.
- The Joseph: 53 W. Russell St.
- Lincoln at Pearl: 40 E. Lincoln St.
The program is being touted as a benefit to the district’s daytime businesses, which now includes over 300 retailers, coffee shops, restaurants, art galleries, offices and more.
“The Short North Alliance is excited to evolve our popular program so that visitors in the Short North area can have greater ease in experiencing our business community,” stated Betsy Pandora, executive director of the Short North Alliance. “Whether you’re visiting the area to eat at a restaurant, view an art gallery, or attend another local event, we want to increase access to affordable parking in the Short North Arts District.”
On-street parking meters and kiosks will not be a part of this program, and standard garage rates apply beyond the first hour of free parking.
