After a year-plus temporary closure, Spaghetti Warehouse will be rejoining the Columbus dining scene later this year.

The iconic Broad Street restaurant will move Downtown to 150 S. High St., the former home of de-NOVO just off the Columbus Commons.

“For decades, Spaghetti Warehouse has been loved by locals and visitors alike,” said Ron Reynolds, president of Spaghetti Warehouse in a press release. “Our new location is right in the heart of downtown and less than a mile away from our original location offering new and long-time Spaghetti Warehouse guests a convenient location to enjoy delicious Italian food and celebrate traditions.”

Spaghetti Warehouse had called 397 W. Broad St. home since 1978. The restaurant closed temporarily after a roof collapse in March of 2022 and the building is yet to be fixed. A permit declaring the structure unsafe and delaying repairs or demolition for 90 days was last issued on January 3, 2023.

Reynolds says the repairs needed at the previous location, as well as the pandemic, created the opportunity to look for ways to reenergize the brand.

The new restaurant will have a much smaller footprint, with seating for about 200, as opposed to 800 plus at the previous location. Reynolds also promises that the iconic trolley car will make an appearance at the new location.

The menu will be modernized with the addition of quick-service and grab-and-go items, and options that make delivery and takeout easier. However, diners will still find favorites like 15-layer lasagna, spaghetti and meatballs, chicken parmesan, sourdough bread and Italian wedding soup.

The Columbus Downtown Development Corporation (CDDC), Robert Weiler, Sr. and Patrick Kelley were instrumental in securing the Downtown location.

“CDDC is ecstatic that the iconic Spaghetti Warehouse continued to invest in our vision for downtown, and our collective aim to increase the number of family style, value driven restaurants surrounding the local businesses and Columbus Commons area,” stated Matt Lutz, CDDC’s chief development officer.

CDDC will validate parking for Spaghetti Warehouse customers.

Spaghetti Warehouse is expected to reopen in its new home in November 2023.
