Next Monday, July 18th, The Drexel Theatre Radio Café will be closing for renovations with no reopening date yet determined. The cafe space is being reviewed by Friends of the Drexel, Inc. to determine the best use of that portion of the building.
“Our community and the movie industry have undergone significant changes during the 15 years that the Radio Café has been in operation,” said Richard Stoff, Chairman of Friends of the Drexel. “In addition to some basic TLC, we want to reevaluate the space to make sure we’re serving the needs of our patrons, and providing a quality experience for them, as effectively and efficiently as possible.”
The movie theatre concession stand will remain open to provide standard food and drink options to moviegoers, including a few café items, as well as beer, wine and coffee.
In March, The Drexel Theatre was purchased by Friends of the Drexel, Inc., converting the operation into a non-profit venture with CAPA brought on to manage the operations of the theatre.
