The Other Paper wrote The five best jukeboxes in Columbus

Not all jukeboxes are created equal—unless, that is, you’re talking about the digital models that make up the majority of those in service in Columbus. These machines, with their nearly uniform sampling of popular albums and Internet search options, are geared toward generating maximum revenue for bar owners and the vending companies that rent-out and maintain them. Their wide-ranging selections seem to suffice for most casual bargoers. However, for those who prefer what is commonly referred to as “a good jukebox,” what digitals gain in universal appeal, the entire establishment pays for in personality.
“They’d really like us to switch to the Internet Jukebox,” one bar manager, who asked to remain anonymous, said of his patrons. Still, he said, his bar prefers the older model for its vintage look. Plus, he added, “It lets us have some say on what gets played.”
