Angry Bear Kitchen’s co-owner and Chef Tyler Minnis has a new kitchen at The Market Italian Village. There, he’s led a total transformation of the two-year-old eatery, market, deli and coffee shop.
Before ABK closed in September 2016, Minnis established a reputation. The Old North restaurant, serving breakfast and upscale diner goods, offered the same farm to table, chef-driven style Minnis brings to The Market.
“The menu draws inspiration from the changing seasons, with selections from the restaurant’s kitchen, deli case, and wood burning oven,” Minnis said. “My take on food is to make it fun and exciting. We want to put things on the plate that other people in town aren’t yet doing.”
For example, a ribeye with red onion, aioli, béarnaise sauce and duck-fat steak fries.
Minnis took on his twin brother Collin Minnis to create a new cocktail menu, and the Market’s retail side will see some changes as well, including some kitchen-inspired dishes for at-home meals.
