Many arts organizations call Columbus home, and range from large groups to small nonprofits. We ask our readers each year about their favorite organizations that support the arts in order to help shine a spotlight on the groups who do the cultural heavy lifting for both performative and visual arts.
In first place this year is the Greater Columbus Arts Council (GCAC) which funds hundreds of groups and individual artists and programs each year, in addition to operating the annual Columbus Arts Festival. The support and recognition of GCAC is a no-brainer, since their efforts touch nearly every group in town in some way, and the “Columbus Makes Art” marketing campaign helps to spread the word on the importance of that support to locals and visitors alike.
