2020 was a year we all stayed a bit closer to home. Whether you were working from home, sheltering in place, taking care of friends and family, or turning into a teaching assistant for your virtually-schooled children, we had a lot of reasons to spend more time within our own neighborhoods.
Each year, we as ask our readers and editors about the best neighborhoods in the city for residents. People often cite walkability, local businesses, public parks and friendly atmosphere as the reasons why they pick the number one spot.
This year, German Village reclaimed the number one spot for all of the reasons listed above. The historic neighborhood is meticulously preserved and home to some of the city’s most popular destinations for visitors as well as amenities for residents.
