They Might Be Giants Added to Nelsonville Music Fest Lineup

We learned that Ween and Emmylou Harris would be headliners at this year’s four-day Nelsonville Music Festival back in January, and Conor Oberst was added to the top of the billing slots in February. But the fourth headliner somehow slipped under the radar without a major announcement: They Might be Giants.

Duo John Flansburgh and John Linnell have been rocking together since the early 80s, and have maintained their indie-cred across 14 albums filled with everything from rock jams to silly sing-alongs to kid’s music to shoegaze love songs.

Additional musicians and entertainers that have more recently been added to the lineup include Jenny Lewis, Shannon and The Clams, The Cactus Blossoms, Mr. Elevator, Jay Som, Ona, St. Lenox, Apple & The Moon, Chris Biester and Max Knouse.

Previously announced acts include Rodriguez, Son Volt, Parquet Courts, Cloud Nothings, Frazey Ford, Michael Hurley, Tyler Childers, Twin Peaks, Sara Watkins, Big Thief, Honeyhoney, Margaret Glaspy, Aldous Harding, Mirah, Aaron Lee Tasjan, Valley Queen, The Easy Leaves, Sarah Shook & The Disarmers, Sallie Ford, Mothers, Ron Gallo, Marisa Anderson, Hellnaw, Weedghost, Wesley Bright & The Honeytones, Adam Remnant, Swarming Branch, Counterfeit Madison, Doc Robinson, Caitlin Kraus, Blue Moth and Aaron Michael Butler with the Tied for 5th Percussion Group.

The Nelsonville Music Festival takes place from June 1-4 at Robbins Crossing on the campus of Hocking College in Nelsonville, Ohio.
