You might recall Fourteen Twenty Nine from its incubator gig at Budd Dairy. The bakery earned lots of fans for its array of treats such as brownies and cinnamon rolls. Fourteen Twenty Nine made quality products and didn’t scrimp on the good stuff. That is, the coffee cake had oodles of streusel, the Oreo brownies featured a generous supply of the signature cookie.
And while the bakery’s departure from the food mall-hall was disappointing, it need not be. There is life after Budd Dairy. You can still find Fourteen Twenty Nine’s wares at places such as Antolino’s Pizza, Weiland’s Market and the Westgate Farmers Market.
And that includes items like the Bottom of the Bag Brownie. Look at it! First, the brownie is majestic in terms of name and concept. Any dedicated snack eater knows that the bottom of the bag is where the absolute best bits reside. It’s the land of intensity with the saltiest chips or loosened flecks of chocolate. The bottom of the bag is an arena of concentrated goodness.
All that goodness is preserved as the crowning glory in the Bottom of the Bag Brownie. You can see it, up top, with its shards of potato chips, pretzel fragments and chunks of Oreo. They’re embedded in a chocolate lid that protects a foundation of dense, classic brownie. Each bite delivers a chocolatey wonder that’s charged up with flavorful pops from the toppings. It’s a brownie that demands attention.
The Fourteen Twenty Nine options extend into other similarly inspired confections. There’s a snack treat box that combines a brownie covered in caramel corn, yellow cake with chocolate frosting, a Fruity Pebble bar, and best of all, another brownie, this time covered in “puppy chow” (a confection involving chex, chocolate and peanut butter).

*You might also be wondering how the bakery got its name. That’s a good question. An intense internet search of articles written about the operation has so far yielded no answers to this pressing question.
