“TWO Wheels for 2k Meals” to Raise Funds and Food for Operation Feed

For over 30 years, Operation Feed has raised food donations and funds to provide assistance to individuals and families in need. When everyone does a little, the Foodbank can do a lot! This year Café Brioso & CBUScyclechic.com are asking the two wheelers and two footers who call the corner of GAY & High street their “home” to get involved and be part of TWO Wheels for 2k Meals Campaign.

Mid-Ohio Foodbank distributed nearly 40 million pounds of food last year, enabling its partner agencies across 20 counties to provide food for more than 51,000 meals each day. Operation Feed efforts help stock the shelves of these food pantries, soup kitchens, and emergency shelters throughout Central and Eastern Ohio.

Thousands of people in Central Ohio are facing hunger, and the individuals who bike downtown can give a little to make a BIG difference in their lives. A single pound of food can create two meals and a $1 contribution can put a meal on a table. June 8th thru June 11th commuter bikers and Café Brioso patrons are encouraged to drop off canned foods or make cash contributions to support Operation Feed at 14 East Gay St. Jeff Davis, owner of the bike-friendly coffee shop, has also committed to donate 5% of their ground coffee sales.

“Everyday our customers, many on bikes, are very loyal to us. Partnering with them to tackle hunger is an honor” said Davis.

From Wednesday June 8th through Friday June 10th, you can drop off non-perishable pantry items or cash contributions to Café Brioso during their regular business hours. On Saturday, the morning of June 11th, cyclists can bike down to Café Brioso to make a contribution with the 1st Annual TWO Wheels for 2K Meals Food Parade. Items can be dropped off between 9AM and 12PM. There will be special contests and discounts throughout the campaign.
