Getting your first apartment can be as frustrating as it is liberating. Most students have only lived on campus for a few months before they have to decide where they will continue to live on campus, or to look for a house or apartment off campus. The search can be painstaking, trudging from apartment to apartment in the middle of winter, but luckily the university recognizes most students don’t live on campus and offers several resources to make the transition a little easier on first-timers.

The best and first resource available to all students who are getting their first house or apartment is Ohio State’s Off-Campus Student Services. OCSS provides a wealth of information and resources for students living off-campus. The office will help you locate housing as well as roommates, provide legal referrals and assist in sublet services.
