Nonprofit arts company Wild Goose Creative is throwing a big party this Saturday night to commemorate its one-year anniversary and raise funds for new lighting and sound equipment.
Beth Dekker, one of Wild Goose’s founders, is thrilled about the organization’s inaugural year. “When we started last September we held four events a month,” she said. “Now we’re booked almost every day until Christmas.” According to Beth, Bacon Camp (a daylong celebration of everything bacon) and Too Many Cooks (a monthly workshop highlighting different culinary artists) were among Wild Goose’s most attended events. “We hope to keep giving back to the community by creating events that connect artists with different audiences,” she said.
Zuppa Catering will prepare the gala menu, which features charred yellow tomato gazpacho, sesame seared pork tenderloin, mini crab cakes with spiced rum mayo, chipotle braised short ribs, spring rolls with rice vermicelli, and vegetables with sweet chili sauce. Sangria and beer will be served throughout the evening. A collection of 10 Wild-Goose-favored bottles of wine will be raffled off, and door prizes will include Paul Robinett candles and a Renetto Canopy Chair. Guests can bid on silent auction items like gift cards for Jeni’s Ice Cream, Basi Italia, and Figlio; tickets to Opera Columbus and Columbus Children’s Theater performances; and a framed print by artist Clinton Reno. Artwork from the Mother Artists at Work: One Roof exhibit will be on display and available for purchase.
Tickets to the gala cost $35, but Columbus Underground readers who visit BrownPaperTickets.com and enter the code “ColsUnderground” will receive a $10 discount. Attire for the event is casual and parking is available behind Wild Goose and on Summit. Visit WildGooseCreative.com for more information.
