“This has been a long time in the making,” said Cara Unrue, owner of Wild Root Yoga. The new studio is opening on Halloween, Monday October 31st, at 3017 Indianola Avenue. in Clintonville.
After years of teaching quality yoga classes in Columbus and elsewhere, Unrue has assembled a team of experienced teachers such as Steph Jo Aud, Liz Baldridge, and Michelle Winship, among others. Classes will include meditation, all levels and speeds of flow yoga, and restorative yoga.
“There will be something for everyone in any mood,” says Unrue. “I enjoy people trying out different things. More people should check out restorative yoga, for example, Liz Baldridge has done wonders for my neck. Pao Aguirre Watkins plays amazing Latin music in her classes. Becky Harter’s Slow Flow is terrific. I am very happy, too, that Evan Wilkerson is teaching meditation. He is certified in EMDR and a Reiki Master. Slowing down is so important.”
3017 Indianola Avenue is part of a long-established row of retail and service oriented businesses. Other businesses include Elizabeth’s Records, Pennington’s Gallery, Jewelweed, Little Light Collective, and cinema/draft house Studio 35.
“And,” Unrue says, ”How fabulous that we are together with a tropical plant store!” BarTrop Plants, an exotic plant store, should provide plenty of good oxygen for yoga doings.
