Wolf’s Ridge Brewing Adding Taproom this Summer

When it comes to the true brewpub experience in Central Ohio, Wolf’s Ridge Brewing, located at 215 North Fourth Street, stands out as one of the most authentic, serving up site-created craft beer and gourmet food to an eager and eclectic crowd of urbanites since opening last September.

Alan and Bob Szuter are the father-son team behind what has quickly become one of Downtown’s favorite new restaurants, and this summer, they will enhance their customers’ experience by adding an 80-guest taproom to their already impressive lineup of services.

The new taproom will occupy 2,300 square feet in the northwest corner of the 6,300 square feet compound, at the southeast corner of Lazelle and Hickory Streets. The space will also serve as keg storage for distribution, and grain storage for a larger malt room.

The taproom will have four large open-access windows overlooking the streets that will also allow cool air to move through during the warmer months. A menu is not yet set, as the Szuters remained focused on the quality of food in the dining room, but there will be several delicious options for patrons at the tasting room.

There will also be a heavily-rotated selection of high-quality craft beer, a real bonus with this addition as it allows the Szuters, who started home-brewing some 10 years ago, to make more small batches, firkins, cask ales, and collaborations with other microbreweries in the area.

“With the dining room, by nature, more aligned with the food, we have always wanted a space that could be more beer focused,” shares Bob Szuter on the decision to create a taproom. “We hope to attract casual and diehard craft beer drinkers alike with this space, giving them a relaxed, fun place to hang out and enjoy beer.”

Wolf Ridge’s taproom should be ready to launch this June. Construction is already underway, as are plans for a celebration to introduce the newest part of the WRB brand.
