    Yan Can asian restaurant coming to Arena District

    Columbus’ Tommy O’Shaughnessy is stepping out of his role as publican to join TV chef Martin Yan in a business venture that aims to open 50 Yan Can quick-service Asian restaurants across the country and build four combination Irish-Asian restaurants in international destinations.

    The Yan Can restaurants, which will be operated or franchised by Yan’s Asian Culinary Concepts Inc., are seen as a step above Panda Express, working strictly with fresh ingredients to provide customers a high-quality meal at a moderate price.

    If O’Shaughnessy has his way, one of the first wave of Yan Can restaurants will show up in the Arena District, not far from his 8-year-old O’Shaughnessy’s restaurant.
