Yoga Collective Bringing Together Yogis to Support Wellity Education Programs

“We are excited to support this great cause,” said Sherry Fair, coordinator of an event to benefit Wellity Education, a non-profit focused on stress reduction programs in schools. Yoga Collective is February 26, 2023 from 10am to 3pm.

“It would be great to have a big yoga gathering again,” she said. “It is a wonderful thing to all come together to support Wellity.”

Fair recently graduated with a masters in yoga and has enjoyed teaching classes all over the United States. She is happy to organize Yoga Collective at Ohio Wesleyan University to support Wellity.

Nine yoga teachers from all over Columbus will come together to lead two hundred participants in a day of mindfulness, sound baths, yoga practice, and connection.

Wellity Education, formerly the Youth Yoga Project, has done curriculum-meeting requirements for development and physical education at area schools since 2017. Their work helps students and educators deal with mental and physical stress.

“There will be gift bags, raffles, and door prizes,” said Fair. “Wellity will be in attendance and offering mindfulness cards.”

Yoga teachers such as Marina Zahran, Emily Hanafin, and Angela Bompiani will be featured. Companies on-site include Ebb & Float, GIVE Yoga, LifeTime Dublin, Reden Yoga, and Columbus’ newest yoga studio, Wild Root Yoga, whose owner, Cara Unrue, will lead a session.

“Large and small, we all play an important role in the development of community,” says Fair.

Sound baths by Ebb & Float’s Sarah Waller will start and conclude the benefit. Freedom a la Cart will provide participants with plant-based lunches.

The event to benefit Wellity Education is February 26, 2023 and tickets are $45. Pre-yoga mingling will begin at 10am, and the first sound bath starts at 11. Student tickets are available for traditional students and those in Yoga Teacher Training. The event will be held in The Benes Room at Ohio Wesleyan University in the Hamilton-Williams Campus Center at 40 Rowland Ave, Delaware.
